“I wish I had more than 24 hours in a day!” Sound familiar?

Time management as a topic has over 800 courses on Coursera! Of everything that’s out there, here are my favorite time management techniques; the ones that I swear by:

1. Pareto Analysis (80/20 rule): 80% of work should take 20% of the day. Use your most productive hours (when you feel most active) to accomplish the most important tasks.

2. Pomodoro: Set a timer for 20 mins. Until it rings, focus on the task at hand only. When the timer rings, take a 5-minute break. Repeat the process 4 times, after which you can have slightly longer breaks.

3. Eisenhower Matrix: Organize your task list into four quadrants – important vs unimportant and urgent vs not urgent. If a task is important and urgent, do it now. If it is important but not urgent, schedule it in your calendar. If it is not important and urgent, delegate it. If it is neither important nor urgent, eliminate it.

Have you used any of these or other techniques? Which ones work for you?
